Top teachers for Hertfordshire

With so many good schools and such a good life style for so many in Hertfordshire it is hardly surprising that 500 people attended a teacher recruitment fair in the county recently. Currently in its third year, the award winning Teach in Herts event at Hertfordshire Development Centre, in Stevenage, had representatives from more than 300 Hertfordshire schools.

At the event visiting teachers and other visitors could talk to staff from primary, secondary, middle and special schools about job vacancies at Hertfordshire schools; many registered their interest or applied for jobs during the day. “Hertfordshire is a unique and special place to live and work as a teacher. Our schools are amongst the best in the country because we work together to provide staff with unrivalled career support and continuous professional development said Jan Paine, managing director of Herts for Learning who managed the event. “We are delighted that so many people visited the Teacher Recruitment Fair today to come and experience the many benefits of teaching in Hertfordshire and we look forward to seeing lots of new faces in our schools and academies as they join our family of schools, “she added.

Seventeen different workshops were also available for people to sign up for, aimed at new, returning and overseas trained teachers. For a review of the twenty-three schools that you can find within a five mile radius of St Albans you can take a look at the handy guide produced by the St Albans & Harpenden Review.
