Take up something new this New Year

Are you looking for a new activity for you and or the family in or around St Albans for the New Year? If so how about a spot of archery? Archery UK ranges are great centres for individuals and family groups to find out more about a new sport. You can find the St Albans Archery range at Old Parkbury Lane, Ventura Park Industrial Estate, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL2 2DY – Phone: 01923 850317 or Mobile: 07957 167824.

The range was set up by the owner based on what he felt was missing within the UK when it came to the sport of archery. “A place where families, kids and adults can all go, learn the sport and have a great day all at the same time. They are open Monday to Friday from 9 am until 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and on a Sunday from 10 am until 6 pm.

For the main sport of archery, there are two types of courses; target archery and field archery. Target Archery is usually held in an open field where you stand in one spot and shoot at targets placed at various distances. This is where you would practice improving your technique and aim. Field Archery, on the other hand, is a course normally set out over rough terrain, where you walk along a track and shoot at various different targets, all at different distances. The St Albans range has targets that consist of 3D animal-shaped targets, giving you that sense of realism and adventure.

The range can provide you with all bows, arrows and safety equipment you need but you can bring your own. All the instructors are experienced qualified GB archery instructors. The range only asks that you wear the appropriate clothing and footwear and suggest wellies for the field course. The ranges are naturally supervised at all time with one of the safety officers controlling the shoots.
