Planning to get away from St Albans this year?

Of course no one would want to leave a home in St Albans or Harpenden for long. But at this time of year planning a holiday or trip abroad can take hold. This year’s top exotic destinations according to a recent Travel Trends poll will give you plenty to ponder round your St Albans kitchen table.

Top of the list is Argentina with the best steaks in the world, a capital city to rival London in sophistication but with the wide plains of the Pampas, the glaciers of Patagonia and the breath-taking Iguazu falls to add to the experience.

Second on the list is Arizona which is home to some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world; where reality is so much more impressive than in the classic western movies. Followed closely by British Columbia hailed as the land of winter sports, with loads of lakes, forests, vineyards to enjoy.

Closer to home Germany makes it to number 4 on the list with plenty of amazing cities that blend the best of old and new architecture to visit alongside cutting edge cultural experiences from world class orchestras to art galleries. Fifth is Malta with thousands of years of history, incredible honey coloured towns and world-class diving followed by Montenegro which offers a perfect package of unspoilt countryside, beautiful high quality resorts and pine-clad hills dropping to the clear Adriatic Sea.

Any spent in any of these fabulous destinations could help make time spent away from the delights of a St Albans or Harpenden home this year.
