Christmas in St Albans and Harpenden wouldn’t be Christmas without a night out to celebrate locally. There are many ways to get out and about in the community and there are lots of events in Churches and church communities across the festive season. Coming up on Saturday 21st Dec 2019 at St Saviour’s Church, Sandpit Lane, St Albans at 7.30 for 8 pm (Tickets £12) Powerhouse Gospel Choir have been invited to return. Their performances have been much enjoyed and they are bound to raise the roof again and warm your hearts at Christmas time!
Powerhouse Gospel Choir is a team of well-seasoned singers and musicians that have gospel at their core and several years’ experience in the international music business. Many of their singers honed their skills as choir singers and soloists whilst in The London Community Gospel Choir, and have since gone on to work as backing vocalists and vocal technicians with some of the world’s biggest artists such as Quincy Jones, Dave Gahan, Pharrell Williams, Blur, Sam Smith and Classical Brit Award Winner Tokio Myers to name a few.
They really will lift the spirits in St Albans as they sing at St Saviours, at the heart of a welcoming and inclusive Christian community church. The church believes everyone should be accepted as equal, irrespective of gender, sexuality, race, social standing, belief, age or ability. It is the Church of England church for the parish of the Bernards Heath area of St Albans and pastorally serves the Marshalswick South Ward. The church was established originally as a daughter church of St Leonard’s in Sandridge during St Albans city’s expansion in the Victorian era. If you live within the parish then you automatically have the right to use the church for baptisms, weddings, blessings and funerals.
