St Albans Street Festival

As the festival season comes into sight St Albans Street Festival brings the festival spirit to your doorstep if you live in St Albans or Harpenden. On the 23rd June 2019 a street festival celebrating all that is fun and fabulous about St Albans City on the feast day of St Alban. The day has also been known as the Alban Street Festival, and as ever 2019 promises to be a great day out for all the family!

Essentially a street festival would not be complete without plenty of street food and drink, but there is also theatre, performance and live music and most of it free. Of the Free Activities, there is an Authentic Roman Market. Ever wondered what it might have been like to live in ancient Rome? What items did they sell? Or what they made? Then come and experience our authentic Roman market at the Alban Festival. There will be cooking, games, loom weaving and Roman soldiers.

Kindly provided by Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild there will be a Roman Pottery Workshop building a miniature Roman City. You can help make a Roman temple, amphitheatre, galleon and Roman villas. Also kindly provided by Young People’s Puppet Theatre is a Puppetry Workshop where you can have a go with a marionette puppet in the puppet theatre. Both are a free family drop-in workshops available throughout the event. 

At the Taxi Rank Stage you can see; Next Stage Choir, Alban Bollywood, Just A Cappella, Hill Street Blues Band, Pixie Studios, Beatz Dance Academy, Nicola Anne, Uptown Funk. At the Curb Side Stage will  be; UR Crew, Matt Barnard, Purple Allstars, The Papersnakes, Matt Barnard, Brassbound.

Of the paid attractions you will be able to enjoy the Poppycock Beach Bar, Local Craft Stalls and a Children’s Funfair, all at the St Albans Street Festival 2019.
