This year’s St Albans race for life takes place on Sunday 23rd July 2017at Verulamium Park, St Albans AL3 4SW. The Race for life is the largest women only fundraising event in the UK. Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into 200 types of cancer.
More than 8 million women have taken part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, over the past 20 years, raising over £547 million to fund the charity’s life-saving work. Cancer Research UK hopes that Race for Life will continue to raise millions so that it can keep on fighting until cures for all 200 types of cancer, affecting men, women and children, are found.
In Verulamium Park, over 3,000 women will come together and help raise money to beat cancer in St Albans. You can come along, walk, run, dance cheer or simply sponsor someone, to find out more take a look at the website www.raceforlife.org.
So as not to have you day ruined by parking problems you are strongly advised not to use the car parks in Verulamium Park as these can become very congested and have limited capacity. Any vehicles that park illegally may be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice. The St Albans council recommend that you use the multi storey car parks in St Albans City Centre to be found just a short walk away from the park itself.
