So this year for the first time St Albans Christmas Market will be hosted within the Meraki Christmas Festival. This will mean that not only will you be able to shop for unique hand-made goods from picturesque wooden chalets in the heart of St Albans, you’ll also be able to enjoy all the fun of a winter wonderland with rides, a spectacular virtual reality Santa’s grotto experience, Christmas movies, skating, an ice bar and much, much more across a range of venues. From the 30th of November to the 22nd of December the Meraki Christmas Festival will be up and running. It will be at the Herts Showground and from the 30th of November to the 6th of December it will be in Verulamium Park from the 8th of December to the 22nd of December and at Vintry Garden from the 30th of November to the 22nd of December. If you are thinking of moving from London or other parts of the country to St Albans or Harpenden the winter is as good a time to visit as any other. It is also very easy to get to the city as it is just 22 minutes from London St Pancras station by train and just, a short hop off the M1 and M25 motorways, and within easy reach of London Luton and Heathrow airports if you are coming from anywhere else in the world. If you are driving there are various City Centre car parks within a 15 minutes walk of the Meraki Christmas Festival. These are likely to be very busy during the festive shopping period but you have options from; Drover's Way/Russell Avenue to the Civic Centre car park on Bricket Road, The Maltings or Christopher Place.
Why not come and visit St Albans this festive season, rediscover Christmas and maybe explore a new home for the family. The St Albans Maraki festival is open Friday 30th November to Saturday 22nd December but closed on Mondays.
