Julia Rigby is a local artist and designer who lives in Harpenden and runs an Art Room. She is well known locally for with her colourful and quirky designs appearing on stationery, puzzles and cross stitch kits. She also happens to be Head of Art at St Hilda’s one of the independent primary school in Harpenden.
The Harpenden Art Room run by Julia is a beautiful art studio in an idyllic rural setting where people of all ages can enjoy being creative. It is surrounded by green fields, trees, chickens, plants and flowers the studio is a fully equips light airy space. Julia enjoys working with children and adults and runs workshops from her purpose-built studio on a local farm offering sessions for all ages from 6 years upwards including adult art sessions. Her term time classes run after school on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, plus Saturday mornings and during school holidays. She also runs two adult workshop sessions on a Friday and a Wednesday morning. Julia has also worked with many schools in the local area sharing her ideas and knowledge to create large scale, collaborative artwork.
Julia describes herself as an artist, illustrator and designer who works primarily in watercolour, ink and gouache to create colourful, lively and often humorous designs. She loves to experiment with colour and is always striving to create something new and original in my designs.
