There are several book clubs in St Albans and Harpenden. At any time of year settling down with a good book is a great way to relax but as the summer holidays fast approach finding those holiday reads is a must. So having St Albans Literary Festival on your doorstep in Hertfordshire is an absolute boon. The festival brings together some of the best local and national authors to celebrate literature in all its forms, from chick lit and crime fiction through to journalism and poetry. It is open to everyone and with ticket prices kept as low as possible, the event run by volunteers aims to welcome as much of the St Albans community as possible.

St Albans Literary Festival started in 2014 presenting over 40 different literary events from more academic presentations, to popular fiction, it includes a rich and exciting children’s programme and workshops. The 2016 Programme runs from Monday 4th to Sunday 10th July 2016 and the details are available online http://www.stalbansliteraryfestival.co.uk/schedule/ If any other St Albans or Harpenden residents would like to get even more involved or offer a talk the organisers ask you to get in touch with them via their website, Twitter or their Facebook page.
