Once again the St Albans Food & Drink Festival will be showcasing the fantastic range of food, drink and produce available throughout St Albans District. From the 26th September to the 8th October, there will be plenty of events to get involved with across the district.
St Albans has so many excellent eateries providing fabulous food and delightful drinking holes, the festival is a great time to try something new or different. The CAMRA Beer Festival kicks thing off from 26th - 29th September and events run all the way through until the Food & Drink Awards are revealed on Monday 8th October.
One interesting St Albans Foods and Drink Festival repeating event is the foodie film nights. Film night at the Larder will present a series of films with a food theme! Starting with Sideways a bittersweet comedy about life, love and Pinot Noir. In which a struggling writer and wine enthusiast Miles takes his engaged friend, Jack, on a trip to Californian wine country for a last single-guy bonding experience.
Then there is Chocolat; a heart-warming tale of love and temptation, starring Juliette Binoche as a single mother who starts a Chocolaterie in a small French village, and who quickly begins to influence local lives in many different ways.
Later on, you can see “Delicatessen” – a French black- comedy, set in a post-apocalyptic, gloomy city. Food is in short supply, but where does the local butcher source his meat? And why does he employ so many handymen for short periods of time?
The film nights take place at the Fleetville Larder, 129 Hatfield Rd, St Albans AL1 4JS. Tickets are just £6 per person and you can call Ed Bevin on 01727 863237 to book your ticket. There are loads more events to enjoy in the St Albans Food &Drink Festival 2018 so make sure you have had a look at the full programme.
