Knebworth house is always an option for getting out and about from St Albans and their Easter jousting is always an opportunity to feel as if you have travelled back in time as the Knights of Arkley don their armour, take up their lances and joust in front of the House on  Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, 27-28th March.

Knebworth House with its turrets and towers provides a spectacular backdrop for the costumed knights who on majestic warhorses gallop at full tilt across the arena in a fantastic display of horsemanship as well as demonstrating their skills in hand to hand combat to the delight all comers.  At the start of each performance, there will be a ‘Knight School’ where children from the audience will be invited to have a try at fighting for fun with the knights and their squires. There are two scheduled jousting displays on both days at about 12.30 and 2.30 pm (depending on the weather).

The jousting is included in the Park and Gardens admission ticket of just £9.50 per person. If armed combat is not your thing other members of the family can enjoy the adventure playground, the gardens and the Dinosaur trail or explore the Maze.  You can of course simply enjoy the spring flowers and listen to the birdsong.

They are also running a Children’s Easter Quiz Trail you can buy your £1 Quiz trail sheet from the Gift Shop and look for the trail symbols in the Garden and Park. Returning your completed quiz sheet to the Shop before you leave to claim your reward.
