Moving to St Alban's offers all sorts of cultural opportunities. There are plenty of pubs to enjoy in St Albans and Harpenden but one, in particular, offers a host of musical delights. It has been voted UK Music Pub of the Year and UK Entertainment Pub of the Year in recent years and offers a range of bands and activities.
The Horn, Victoria Street, St Alans, AL1 3TE is primarily a live music venue with a bar attached. They do charge a small entrance fee but it usually only has to be paid on gig nights, it’s just most nights are gig nights. It also serves food, mainly burger and pub grub menu but you can pre-order food by phone to save waiting when you get there.
A taster of what’s on offer this weekend ranges from Saturday night, February 29, 2020, 8:00 PM 11:00 PM featuring Howl /The Palpitations /Father Benjamin & The Frosty Mornings/Hounds Haul TICKETS: £7 in advance and £9 on the Door. Ages 14+ (Under 18s to be accompanied by a guardian)
Then on Sunday 1st March, there’s the Blue Angel Acoustic Café at 8:00 PM. Every Sunday from 8 pm -12 am there is free entry to the Blue Angel Acoustic Café. The Café has been running for over 20 years, the Blue Angel Acoustic Cafe is a chilled out acoustic evening in St Albans featuring floor spots and a main act. All styles are welcome. Come down early (8 pm) to get on the performer's list or get in touch via the Blue Angel Facebook group.
If you haven’t had enough by Monday you can round up some friends for their weekly. Monday 8:00 for an 8.30 start. The Barn is also available for St Alban's functions and parties with capacity for 90 it’s a fully air-conditioned option with its own bar and sound system.
