The Abbey Theatre St Albans really is a local asset meaning productions can come to St Alban. The theatre has been built and is run entirely by its members. They want to provide high-quality, affordable theatre to the local St Albans and Harpenden community. Their resident production company, the Company of Ten has been performing there for years but they also welcome visiting professional and amateur groups for a truly diverse programme of events throughout the year.
They have two performance spaces; the Main Stage is a traditional proscenium arch theatre, which seats 230. The other venue is the Studio, where you will find Modern Dance for Beginners playing, it seats about 75 people and it brings more experimental theatre to St Albans and Harpenden.
