If you haven’t made it Wendover Woods in Hertfordshire yet this summer, it is one fun event which has been running since the 6th June 2016 and is due to end tomorrow the 30th June. Stick Man is a stick themed event where there are 8 stick-themed activity stations to try your hand at including Hoop a Stick - Hopsticks and Jumping sticks. The Stick Man Games Activity Arenas are self-led, and no reservations are required.  Stick Man is apparently gearing up for a summer of sport and to celebrate they will be setting up a Stick Man Games Arena. If you are intrigued you should be – it also looks like a good excuse to go and spend the day in the woods.

Hertfordshire is fortunate to have so much good English countryside within easy reach of St Albans and Harpenden. Wendover Woods HP22 5NQ are open 364 days of the year with the front entrance gate being opened at 8am. The Forest Drive is only closed to vehicles on Christmas Day! Leaflets with maps inside are available on-site, but you can also print off a map

The café in the woods serves a variety of Hertfordshire’s home produce, locally sourced food and drink. There is a children’s play area set amongst the trees with challenges for children of most ages and abilities. Dogs are welcome in the forest everywhere except the Children's Play Area.  If Stick Man Games are not your thing then a walk in the woods is always relaxing.
