Halloween biscuits

Getting out and making and doing things with the kids around St Albans and Harpenden is easy there is so much to do. If you want to get a bit creative for this Halloween on Friday 18th October there is a Children’s’ biscuit icing class suitable for children aged 6 and above and for all abilities, the event is being run by Sugartists at the Quaker Meeting House, 12 Southdown Road, Harpenden, AL5 1PD, from 3.45 - 5.30pm.

The organisers say that the Children's Halloween Biscuit Icing Class is, “a fantastic biscuit decorating workshop that offers your child the opportunity to learn something new, meet new people, let imagination run free and have lots of fun!” What with biscuits sugar icing and the friendly families that abound in Harpenden it is odds on to be a fun event. The Harpenden Quaker Meetinghouse offers a relaxed and friendly environment.

In the workshop, you will be able to learn to decorate a range of biscuits using different tricks and techniques and at the end of the class, you will get to take your new skills and your own biscuit creations home. It is a good idea to book however as there are limited spaces available. All biscuits are freshly baked before and will keep well in an airtight container for approximately a month. A full list of ingredients can be provided on request.

If you don’t get a place you can look up the organisers as they provide Biscuit icing classes for everyone and also produce Luxury Bespoke biscuits for special occasions. They are a Hertfordshire based company and Alena, the founder of the company, has a lifetime of experience in sugarcraft and biscuit icing. She comes from a family of bakers and cake makers and has personally enjoyed making gifts for family and friends over the years.
