The Round Table is a well-established social club for men between the ages of 18 and 45, who want to get out, meet new people, help the community, and try new social and fundraising activities and experiences. This year the St Albans Santa float, once again took to the streets before Christmas and raised over £17,000!
Last year Santa’s float had been completely refurbished by the lads of the St Albans Round Table- repainted, completely refitted with new lights and speakers and had a good mechanical overhaul.
“All the hard work we put in between September and November clearly paid off. We are totally thrilled and grateful to everyone who donated to our many elves during December.” Said Round Table chairman Ian Goldsmith.
The money collected supports local charities from Youthtalk, Homestart, 3 Valleys, Scouts, AT Society, The Living Room, Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Earthworks and some of the money collected this Christmas was used to deliver Christmas hampers to more than 50 people in the St Albans area.
The Round Table motto is ‘Adopt, Adapt, Improve’, they have thousands of members who meet up every couple of weeks to have fun and get involved in their local communities. Men get together to do anything from paintballing to a simple a drink at the pub followed by a curry. These evenings are the essence of Round Table – bringing together groups of friends for beer and banter from which local Round Table organise their own annual community events. St Albans Round Table is looking for new members to have fun and help them continue their great work in and around the area.
