A fun and interesting thing to do to get to know your area or the area you are thinking of moving to might be a treasure hunt. There are several companies and apps that offer Treasure Hunts of various towns and cities including Harpenden it could be just what you are looking for to help you and your family take a look at relocating during the half term week.

Lots of these treasure hunts are suitable for all ages, the hunt is usually pretty easy to organise and a great way to get outdoors and have fun exploring a place. The Treasure Hunts Harpenden treasure hunt takes you past many local attractions and places of interest, the war memorial, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, St Nicholas Church, The High Street, and The Methodist Church, but more importantly they get you looking around opening your eyes to so many other things you would ordinarily walk straight past! Following the directions and solving the clues along the way you will have great fun exploring and looking more closely at the world around you. For this hunt, you follow clues around Harpenden town centre and are given nuggets of information about the new and old people and places of the town. This fun and informative hunt begins at the war memorial on Church Green, Harpenden, AL5 4ES [show map]and it ends close by after having taken in most of the town centre. 

These kinds of hunts will take one to two hours (ish) to complete, but there is nothing to stop you taking your time or having a bite of lunch or engaging with a bit of shopping along the way so it can easily become a full day of activities.
