The St Albans route is an amazing journey through a piece of history. Hilly in places and fairly challenging compared to other routes but do not feel you need to race. You can simply enjoy the fabulous St Albans scenery as you set off by Westminster Lodge before traversing the open fields, enjoying splendid views of the Abbey and then journeying around the picturesque lake.
With the weather so unpredictable the event organisers say there will only be a couple of water station on the course, at around 5km, and at the finish line. So please bring your own bottle if you feel you will need more than this. The Race for Life is open to all ages so you can bring the family with you, and get a discount on your entry fee to 5k and 10k events when you join with two adults and two children OR one adult and three children.
Whether or not you take part in the St Albans Race for life you can get into the spirit of things by starting to walk more. Go for a short 15 minute walks every other day. Extend your activities - Take the dog for longer walks around St Albans or Harpenden. Gather the family together for a nice long Sunday stroll in the Hertfordshire countryside. If you are simply going to watch the St Albans Race for Life this year make sure you walk to your viewing point.
