St Albans Pilgrimage taster...

It is hard to miss that St Albans with its spectacular Cathedral got its name from the saint who gave his life for Christianity here. As the Alban Pilgrimage gears up to take place at the end of June you can start to get involved now. On Thursday 1st June there is a Albans' Cathedral Family Discovery Morning where you can see the Pilgrimage Puppets.  It’s a free even that starts at 10.00am and runs until 12.30pm at St Albans Cathedral, Sumpter Yard, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1BY (Meet in the North Transept. All children must be accompanied by an adult.)
It is a fun family event to introduction to the amazing puppets which will later process down St Albans High Street at the Alban Pilgrimage on Saturday 24th June.  You and your family can walk around the collection of puppets on exhibition; you can dress up as characters from the Alban Story and can even create your own puppet to take home!
The organisers say it is most suitable for children aged from  3-11 and they suggest that you arrive in good time at least before 11.30am to be able to complete all the activities and avoid any disappointment . The St Albans Cathedral run lots of interesting Family Discovery Mornings but this one is particularly special as it is focused on finding out all about Pilgrimage Day.
