Seasonal fruit and veg available in March come in the form of beetroot, broccoli, artichokes, cardoons, carrot, cauliflower, white cabbage, savoy cabbage, brussels sprouts, chicory, turnip top, spring onion, watercress, beet top, fennel, endive, leek, red radicchio, turnip, spinach, pumpkin. Citrus fruit like oranges tangerine, clementine, lemon, grapefruit, are all in season and some of the autumn English apples and pears are still available.
As winter draws to a close, and buds and sprouts are announcing nature waking up all around St Albans and Harpenden.
