Scouting in St Albans

Young people aged 11 to 20 from Scout and Guide organisations across St Albans have been rehearsing since October to prepare for the St Albans gang show. These year’s show runs from Wednesday 12th February through to Saturday15th February 2020 at The Alban Arena, Civic Centre, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 3LD.

The St Albans Scout & Guide Gang Show takes place at the City's largest theatre. The show hits the stage every February and is performed by members of the St Albans District Scout Association, and the St Albans Division Guide Association. Cast members have to be under the age of 25 and at least 11 years old. On average they have 120 performers on the stage and just as many adult volunteers behind the scenes. Many of our adult volunteers also run sections within the St Albans Scout and Guide Associations.

The show is made up of a variety of big musical numbers around themes and songs from a wide range of artists. This year numbers will include some Panic at the Disco, The Greatest Showman, Billy Elliot, Dear Evan Hansen, Hairspray, Will Young, Taio Cruz and Sister Sledge and that’s just a few of the songs the young people of St Albans will perform.

2020 show performance dates are:

Wednesday 12 February, 7.30 pm

Thursday 13 February, 7.30 pm

Friday 14 February, 7.30 pm

Saturday 15 February, 2.30 pm

Saturday 15 February, 7.30 pm

The running time for the show (including the interval) is usually just under 2.5 hours.

Ticket prices range from £9-£14 for all performances. The volunteer-run box office is open and tickets can be ordered either online via the show’s website for the St Albans Gang show.
