One of the great things about living in Hertfordshire especially St Albans and Harpenden is the number of great schools available. There is a whole host of good to outstanding educational opportunities for families in and around the area. Finding out about the schools in an area is vital when you are looking for a new home if you have kids or are planning to have kids.
If you are parents of children turning aged 5 between September 2019 and September 2020 it is time to start having a look at the school open days and getting the dates for a visit in your diary. Local primary schools have started to publish their open days and tours for prospective parents for 2019/20.
To save you trawling through the individual school websites Harpenden Mumsguide have done the job for you and compiled a list. You can find the list on their School Open Days page. You can also find details of local nursery, primary, secondary, sixth form and independent school open days over the coming months on the list. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Not every school offers formal tours and some haven't announced dates yet, but others school open days dates will be added say Harpenden Mumsguide as they are announced. If any have been missed or in some cases, no public open day has been organised by the school we would suggest contacting the school directly to arrange a visit.
Getting the right school for your children is so important and a move to St Albans or Harpenden is such a good way of offering your family the best start in life. The applications process will open on 5th November. And full details of the process can be found on the county council website. The deadline is 15th January 2019.
