Parks in Harpenden & St Albans - children can join in for free

There are plenty of parks in Harpenden and St Albans. St Albans City and District Council provide 44 outdoor play areas across the district. The importance of outdoor play is so important for children and families. If you have recently moved to St Albans or Harpenden or are planning on moving your family out of London to the area you will not be disappointed in the opportunities to play outdoors. As well as having loads of outdoor play spaces through the summer and the Easter school holidays Play in the Parks a holiday playscheme for children aged between 3 and 12 years old is run. The St Albans City and District team of play leaders co-ordinate fun and active sessions in 15 parks across the St Albans District. Children can turn up and join in free of charge.

Last but not least the development of the Play Area in Verulamium Park, where St Albans City & District Council are working closely with Historic England and the District Archaeologist to ensure that the installation of the new playground equipment does not damage St Albans Parks precious and unique archaeology.
