Learning new skills in St Albans

St Albans has something for everyone and learning some new skills at the NSG Performing Arts Easter Camp is one of them. During the camp, students spend five days learning new skills and styles from professional performers and teachers, including a mixture of Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Breakdance and Musical Theatre.

This all takes place at The SandPit Theatre in the heart of Marshalswick, St. Albans. The theatre is a multipurpose arts venue based on the campus of Sandringham School. There are loads of good schools to choose from is St Albans to cater for a range of students. Sandringham School is one of the comprehensive secondary school with Artsmark Gold status. If you want to check out schools in the St Albans and Harpenden areas there is no better than getting involved with events and activities they run.

The SandPit theatre is yet another St Albans venue. It has a comfortable raked auditorium, seating up to 268 people. It has a bright open foyer area complete with cafe and bar to provide refreshments.  Alongside the modern theatre, there are all the other usual facilities you would expect including facilities for wheelchair users and baby changing.

Since the Theatre opened in 2001, the venue has endeavoured to provide a cultural hub for the whole community of St. Albans and reach out further districts. The full programme of in-house productions created by members of the school is complemented by productions from community groups. This means it is used for a wide variety of performances from concerts and musicals, theatre and film, dance and comedy, educational lectures and workshops to Presentation and Awards evenings.

The creative industries are key to the economic success of the UK. This St Albans schools Mission Statement is ‘Everybody can be Somebody'. Taking part in the NSG Performing Arts Easter Camp results in a performance in the SandPit theatre in front of family, friends and invited guests.
