Hell Hath no Fury Like a Woman in Pink- Race for Life

We all know someone whose family is touched by cancer and according to Decca Aitkenhead writing in The Guardian recently “if you were born after 1960, the odds that you will get cancer in your lifetime are now one in two. It is an extraordinary statistic. Even if you turn out to be one of the lucky ones, half of the people around your kitchen table this morning will at some point sit in a doctor’s surgery and be given the news that they have cancer.”

So we really do all need to keep raising money for Cancer Research. The St Albans Race for life 5k is on again at the end of this month Sunday 24 Jul 2016 at 11:00 at Verulamium Park, Holywell Hill, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 2DL.

Adult entry (Women aged 16+): £14.99
Child entry (Girls aged 6-15 & boys aged 12 or under): £10.00
Under 6 entry (Girls and boys): free and no registration needed

The start line is in the field next to Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre and the St Albans route takes you on a great journey through history it may be a bit hilly in places and fairly challenging, but the open fields, and inspiring views of the Abbey before rounding on the picturesque lake make it all worthwhile.

If running/walking is too much you can always volunteer, the Race for Life events couldn't happen without the help of dedicated volunteers. Whether it's promoting the events in your local area, helping set up the course or handing out medals at the finish line, there are lots of ways you can help. Or simply come along to support your local runners the atmosphere on the day is always great! #pinkarmy #raceforlife.
