Harpenden Street Food Social

Harpenden Street Food Social is a monthly event run in the centre of Harpenden which runs from April to August, and the next one is on Saturday 18th August 2018 from 4 pm - 9 pm. You will find it on Harpenden Common, Southdown Road, Harpenden AL5 1DT.

Over the summer Harpenden has seen a diverse collection of local street food vendors serving foods from around the world. If you are a bit of street foodie you will already know how it feels to stand among the bustling aromas of world food, chatting to your friends alongside lots of other folks enjoying delicious food in the great outdoors.

Right now, street food is eaten all over the place from markets and special events, to rooftops and disused warehouses, not just at food festivals and on the high street. There are dedicated street food events popping up all over the country not least Harpenden and St Albans. It’s perhaps no surprise that street food has seen such rapid growth over the last few years. The low start-up costs have created new opportunities for those with cooking skills and a taste for good food.

Emilio of E&M Catering has been making sure the popular ‘Harpenden Street Food Social’ is making its mark this year. Emilio will bring his menu to the Harpenden Street Food social, along with a wide selection of other chefs offering their wide and varied cooking talents. There is no limit to the types of food you can sell as a street food trader. The crucial thing to remember is that it must be made from high-quality ingredients. That is one of the joys of street food, good quality sometimes even healthy ingredients cooked in front of you far better than a traditional fast food restaurant.

Visitors to the Harpenden Street Food Social on 18th August can also quench their thirst with a locally brewed beer and cider, or indulge in a chilled glass of Prosecco from the licensed bar.
