Food and Drink Awards 2016

With so much to enjoy in the St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink festival don’t forget to look out for the finalists and winners of the Awards that celebrate the wide variety of food and drink businesses and venues that we have in our area.

The St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink festival has 12 categories overall and 11 of them are decided by a public vote along with scrutiny of a judging panel.  Only one special award is decided by the steering group. The voting for the short list was open for six weeks earlier in the year and almost 3,000 people took part in the online ballot with more than 400 venues nominated for the 11 titles including best bar, best market stall and best café. Dead heats resulted in four finalists in a few categories.

The Festival Steering Group judges, including Herts Ad food and drink writer Becky Alexander, have they been making surprise visits to the finalists over the last few weeks.
