There is nothing quite like a school summer event and Sir John Lawes School in Harpenden is hoping to follow the success of their 2012 & 2014 by once again holding their Festival on their playing Field. Already confirmed is the tribute act 'Killer Queen' and they are sure to include Sir John Lawes and Manland School Bands and Choirs.  There will be children's activities; a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, magician, face painting, climbing wall and more as well as a licensed bar and hot & cold food.

Harpenden has plenty of great schools and there is no better way of getting a feel for a school than a school summer fete. The schools’ admissions process can be pretty daunting, especially if you are applying for the first time. You will undoubtedly want to make sure that you have fully researched all the options and are making an informed decision, as well as being realistic about which schools/pre-schools you have a chance of getting in to.

If you are looking at Harpenden and St Albans schools there is no better place to start than the Hertfordshire County Council website there is loads of information about Harpenden’s primary and secondary schools, how to apply and how places are allocated.  As well as information about the primary and secondary schools’ admissions and appeals process, you can also access links to school Ofsted reports and performance statistics from the Department of Education website.

If you fancy sussing out a school look out for the Summer Fete if you just fancy a good day out with the family  tickets for the Harpenden Festival on the Field are now available - Adults £20, Children (5-17) £10, under 5’s go free. Family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £55.
