The newly restored St Albans Museum + Gallery sits at the heart of the city’s cultural life. This year its festive exhibition references the popular family pursuit for Christmas get-togethers. Called Game Plan: Board Games Rediscovered the exhibition celebrates the joy, excitement and occasional frustration of playing board games.
Alongside the historic games sit current family favourites such as Cluedo and Trivial Pursuit, and traditional games like chess. The historical board games include The Game of the Goose and other beautifully designed games from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is displayed at St Albans Museum + Gallery from December 2018 until March 2019.
