County Show time

It has become a real county tradition to visit The Hertfordshire County Show that takes place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend. The event offers a real insight into the best of Hertfordshire. You can see animals ranging from huge bulls to tiny ducks, spectacular displays of all kinds of produce alongside educational demonstrations. It really is a fantastic family day out.

The show has now been officially running for 130 years! It is a fantastic way to see all the traditional skills that keep our Hertfordshire countryside beautiful, as well as a way to interact with and support local traders by buying some of their produce. The Hertfordshire Agricultural Society was set up all the way back in 1801.  It was set up with the aim of promoting farming and agriculture and all associated skills, crafts, trades and professions.

Alongside the show over the bank holiday weekend the Society also contributes to a range of countryside and farming educational programs, reaching over 3000 primary school students in Hertfordshire.  If you can’t make the big weekend make sure you look up the Hertfordshire Agricultural Society as there are also a variety of other events held by the society through the year.

To save on costs you can book tickets in advance tickets for the show. Once you are in there is free car parking, and all the entertainment and displays are free, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May 2017  8:30am - 5:30pm. The Showground, Dunstable Road, Redbourn, Herts Postcode: AL3 7PT
