Are you Glasto Ready?

Whether you have tickets and want to camp in fields of mud or are happy to enjoy the weekend in the comfort of your own home it’s exciting to watch the build up to Glastonbury.  This year the Glastonbury site opens to campers from Wednesday 21 to Monday 26 June and the main stages provide the music from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 June. Fortunately the BBC will provide   extensive coverage on TV and radio so you can create your own St Albans or Harpenden mini festival with family and friends.
This year the line-up is getting there, with three headliners -Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters and Radiohead confirmed for Britain's greatest music festival . The first headliners to be announced were Radiohead,  then the American rockers the Foo Fighters who were due to perform in 2015 but were forced to cancel when front man Dave Grohl broke his leg during a concert. Ed Sheeran will play the Sunday night slot. Among the other acts are Katy Perry, Craig David, Stormzy, Major Lazer, Lorde, Beyonce’s sister Solange and Kaiser Chiefs.
Emily Eavis has also promised a "really big surprise" at this year’s Glastonbury Festival “We’ve managed to keep it completely quiet for the first time ever,” she said. The official line-up, has three gaping ‘To Be Announced’ slots on three of the stages, one on each day of the festival.  So much speculation – an Oasis reunion? Harry Styles? Stevie Nicks or Carole King? Daft Punk? Even Barack and Michelle Obama have been talked about. After His Holiness the Dalai Lama graced Glastonbury in 2015 and Patti Smith, led the crowd in a singalong of Happy Birthday why not the former US President and First Lady?
