Love them or hate them ABBA hold a unique place in the history of music. The Swedish band made up of Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Anni-Frid is one of the most popular bands in the history of pop music and been given tribute everywhere. You can pay your own homage in St Albans this weekend.

Waterloo the Best of Abba Tribute Show will be on at The Alban Arena, Civic Centre, St Albans AL1 3LD on Friday 19th January 2018. Waterloo looks back at the sensational rise to stardom of the band and gives fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of a live Abba show right here in St Albans Hertfordshire.

If you need persuading five reasons have been cited as to why we love ABBA so much; first the songs of course many have become anthems for people around the world. But they could only make so many amazing tunes because of their genuine musicality. ABBA was on another level at the time and their use of piano and guitar was never overdone. Then Anni-Frid and Agnetha the female singers really knew how to sing creating harmonies that people loved.

Their use of very simple English to write their lyrics helped make them global stars. Then there were their videos, ABBA were from a time before technology played a huge role in the making of videos so the focus in the videos was often on the expressions faces, even if we were distracted by their outfits.
